TRRC vs ARA - scope and structure
Many powers and responsibilities, that members may assume are dealt with by the ARA, have in fact been delegated to the regional rowing councils who, to all intents and purposes, now act as the ARA for their regions.
The ARA continues to have a major role in administrating the GB squad, approving policy, setting England wide standards and collecting and distributing funds within the sport, but volunteers within the regions now oversee much of the day to day administration and policing of the sport.
The TRRC executive meets monthly, with the full council meeting several times a year. Unfortunately many clubs and events do not currently send a representative to the full council meetings and we would encourage the region’s clubs and events do to do so in future, as a voice at the TRRC really is becoming a voice in saying how rowing is run in the region.
