Adaptive Coaching Conference
Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Buckinghamshire will host the first Adaptive Rowing Coaching Conference- 'Breaking down Barriers, Creating Opportunities', on the 13 and 14 October 2007.
The weekend will cover a range of topics designed to inform delegates of current practices as well as future possibilities. Presentations will cover a range of information from participation sport to podium representation. Guest speakers will be present to deliver workshops to engage and challenge current thinking and practices. With the overall aim to empower delegates to leave with the ability to further develop their Adaptive Rowing programmes and plans.
Importantly, the conference will also offer opportunities for discussion, sharing best practice and thinking outside of the box; as well as a chance to visit the inclusive facilities available at the Guttmann centre.
Thanks to financial support from GBRowing, The ARA, WARA and the Rowing Foundation, organisers have been able to keep costs to a minimum and there will be a small delegate fee of £50 for the whole weekend - which includes accommodation and food.
Buddy/Carers will not be charged for attending the conference. We hope that this conference will attract all involved in developing adaptive rowing including the athletes as well as those who are just thinking about it.
To apply please complete this application form and return to the Coaching Secretary at ARA National Office by 14 September. The conference timetable can be downloaded on
