2009 Ocean Thunder World Surf Rowing Championships

After the success of the Ocean Thunder Open in 2008, Ocean Thunder Europe Ltd are delighted to announce that the Ocean Thunder World Surf Rowing Championships will be held at the Grande Plage in the City of Biarritz on the Cote Basque on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September 2009.

Registration is simple to do and we advise that you do not wait, as numbers of entries may be limited, and the entry fee doubles to €700 per crew for entries made after 28th February 2009.
3rd European Surf Rowing Federation (ESRF) Championship
Ocean Thunder Europe Ltd is also pleased to announce that at the Annual General Meeting of the European Surf Rowing Federation Championship in Twickenham, London, held on Sunday 30th November, it was voted that the ESRF Championships for men and women will be conducted as part of the 2009 Ocean Thunder World Surf Rowing Championship.
The title of European Surf Rowing Federation Champion will be awarded only to a European crew. This will occur at the conclusion of the heats/series rounds of racing on Saturday 5th September and it will be one race for those men’s and women’s crews who have qualified during the heats/series.
There is no extra fee for this. Details on what qualifies a crew to be deemed European will be issued by the European Surf Rowing Federation early in 2009.
