Incident Reporting
To report general misdemeanours/ bad behaviour/ poor navigation:
- Please use the new on-line reporting system explained with site "map guide on line" and with link to report on here.
For ARA Recordable incidents:
- Record the incident details in your club's / event's incident log book and also on-line (as shown above) if applicable. If you do not have an incident log book, contact the ARA.
- For ARA Reportable incidents (with injury to person and/or damage value of £100 and +), please visit this page for instructions:
- Reports should first be sent in electronic format where possible. We also ask you to print out a hard copy of the report and sign it.
- If you are having problems using the on-line system, please use the official ARA form for recording the details of the incident
- Post the ORIGINAL signed hard copy to the Regional Water Safety Adviser:

N.B. Reports must be written as soon as possible following the incident (within 24 hours at the latest)
For PLA Reportable incidents:
(on PLA waters with injury to person and/or damage of £500+):
- Record the details using either the proper PLA procedure and form (word pdf) or make an additional copy of the ARA incident form that you are sending to the ARA (This is acceptable to the PLA and will save you filling in two separate forms)
- Post a hard copy to: The PLA Harbour Master (Upper):
Harbour Master Upper, Bakers' Hall, 7 Harp Lane, London EC3R 6LB - Post AN ORIGINAL to the Regional Water Safety Adviser:

For near misses in PLA waters:
- Where possible use the new on-line reporting system on this page OR
- Use a PLA form (word pdf) for recording the details of the incident but please still also try to do an on-line report as well
- Do NOT send reports of near misses to the PLA. The PLA have asked that rowers send these to the RWSA: Stephen Webb, TRRC RSWA, Inyanga, Fireball Hill, Sunningdale, Berkshire, SL5 9PJ

Club Safety Audits
The Safety Audit for Clubs in the Thames Region must be completed using the online facility linked below (The Excel file provided on the ARA Website must NOT be used)
Event Safety Audits
Event (head and regatta) safety documentation must be completed and submitted to the RSWA at least one month in advance of the event.
